Thrive is an in-person gathering at Christ Community Church for women ages sixteen and older to come together, grow in community, worship, and connect deeply with God.

2027’s featured speaker is Lisa Harper, a Christian author, Bible educator, and speaker.

Rarely are the terms “hilarious storyteller” and “theological scholar” used in the same sentence, much less used to describe the same person, but Lisa Harper is anything but stereotypical! She is a compelling communicator whose writing and speaking emphasize that accumulating knowledge about God pales in comparison to an intimate relationship with Jesus.

Lisa has been featured on numerous television and radio programs, hosts the Back Porch Theology podcast, and has spoken at hundreds of women’s events and churches around the world. If you can’t find her teaching, studying, hiking, or wave riding, she’s probably in a coffee shop sipping a mocha and typing away—because she has also published seventeen books, including her recent best-selling devotional, Jesus.

When asked about her credentials, the most noticeable thing about Lisa is her authenticity. She says, “I’m so grateful for the opportunities God has given me, but don’t forget, he often uses donkeys and rocks!” She describes her greatest accomplishment as becoming Missy’s mom through the miracle of adoption. After a difficult journey including several adoption losses, she finally got to bring her daughter home from Haiti in 2014—and she’s been smiling even wider ever since!
